Cobham/Thrane

Device Summary

The Cobham/Thrane device is a robust satellite communication solution designed for reliable tracking and data transmission in remote and challenging environments. Leveraging advanced technology, this device provides seamless connectivity for various applications, making it a valuable tool for businesses and organizations that require real-time monitoring and communication capabilities.

How to Use

Note: The FBB Tracker is not needed to track these devices, except the Sailor 150, Explorer 325, and Explorer 300 when background IP/data is also needed.

Firmware versions that support tracking

  • Sailor 500

    • All firmware versions
  • Sailor 250

    • All firmware versions
  • Sailor 150

    • IMPORTANT FIRMWARE UPDATE: Firmware version 1.21 and higher support built-in tracking. Allow multiple PDP contexts on SAILOR 150

    • All firmware versions with an exception. A single PDP context is supported on Class 3 BGAN terminals, therefore, if you activate the tracking PDP context you cannot open a second context for background IP or streaming. You must disconnect the tracking PDP context first.

  • Explorer 727

    • Firmware 1.13 and higher
  • Explorer 325

    • IMPORTANT FIRMWARE UPDATE: Firmware version 1.21 and higher support built-in tracking. Allow multiple PDP contexts on EXPLORER 325

    • Firmware 1.13 and higher with an exception. A single PDP context is supported on Class 3 BGAN terminals, therefore, if you activate the tracking PDP context you cannot open a second context for background IP or streaming. You must disconnect the tracking PDP context first.

  • Explorer 710

    • Firmware 1.05 and higher
  • Explorer 700

    • Firmware 3.07 and higher
  • Explorer 500

    • Firmware 3.03 and higher
  • Explorer 300

    • IMPORTANT FIRMWARE UPDATE: Firmware version 3.04 and higher support built-in tracking. Allow multiple PDP contexts on EXPLORER 300

    • Firmware 3.03 and higher with an exception. A single PDP context is supported on Class 3 BGAN terminals, therefore, if you activate the tracking PDP context you cannot open a second context for background IP or streaming. You must disconnect the tracking PDP context first.

Simultaneous Data and Tracking (Multiple PDP Contexts)

To support simultaneous tracking and data connections, ensure the firmware version is loaded and the SIM card is installed to support multiple PDP contexts.
