Reverse Geocoding

Feature Summary

The Reverse Geocoding feature in GSatTrack is a powerful tool for converting geographic coordinates into human-readable addresses. The Reverse Geocoding feature enhances the platform's functionality by providing context to geographic data, making it easier to understand and utilize.

Overview

The Reverse Geocoding feature in GSatTrack allows users to transform latitude and longitude coordinates into readable addresses, landmarks, or place names. This process provides meaningful context to raw geographic data, enabling users to identify the exact location of assets more easily. By converting coordinates into addresses, the Reverse Geocoding feature enhances asset tracking, reporting, and decision-making processes.

This feature is particularly useful for fleet managers, logistics coordinators, and emergency response teams who need to quickly determine the location of assets based on GPS data. It integrates seamlessly with other GSatTrack features, providing a comprehensive view of asset movements and locations.

Additional Information

Note!

Reverse Geocoding is automatically enabled for assets. You can choose to view, hide, or show street addresses in asset position reports using the following instructions.

How-To: View Reverse Geocoding

  1. In the Navigation menu select “Assets”

  2. Click the “Asset Options” gear icon next to the desired asset to edit

  3. Click on “Positions”

  4. The position reports available will show street addresses above the assets latitude and longitude location unless reverse geocoding has been hidden.

How-To: Hide Reverse Geocoding

  1. In the Navigation menu select “Assets”

  2. Click the “Asset Options” gear icon next to the desired asset to edit

  3. Click on “Edit Asset”

  4. Expand the “Settings” tab

  5. Under “Hide Information” check the “Address” box

  6. Select “Save Changes”
