Two-Factor Authentication
Feature Summary
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a second login step on top of your username and password: a unique, time-sensitive code from an authenticator app on a trusted device. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized account access. GSatTrack works with standard authenticator apps such as Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, or Windows Authenticator.
How to Use
How-To: Configure Two-Factor Authentication
Install an authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, or Windows Authenticator) on your trusted device.
Enable 2FA in GSatTrack:
- Open the Config Module and select Security from the List Panel.
- Click the "Enable Two-Factor Authentication" button.
- Record your recovery codes in case you lose your trusted device.
Set up authentication:
- Scan the QR code with your app, or enter the authentication key manually.
- Enter the generated 6-digit code into the portal to confirm and enable 2FA.
Recovery Codes
When you enable 2FA you receive a set of recovery codes — eight-character alphanumeric strings formatted as two blocks separated by a dash. They are your backup access method if your trusted device is unavailable, so store them securely.
