Feature Summary

The World Satellite Infrared Map Layer overlays satellite thermal-radiation imagery on the GSatTrack map. It lets users visualize cloud formations, track weather systems, and monitor events such as wildfires and volcanic eruptions for better situational awareness.

Additional Information

How-To: Enable Map Layers: World Satellite Infrared

  1. Go to the Map Mode Indicator in the top right hand corner of the portal and click on “Layers”

  2. Click on “World Satellite Infrared”

  3. Interact with the new map data

How-To: Disable Map Layers: World Satellite Infrared

  1. Go to the Map Mode Indicator in the top right hand corner of the portal and click on “Layers”

  2. Click on “World Satellite Infrared”

  3. World Satellite Infrared data will no longer be visible
