IsatData Pro (IDP)
Device Summary
The IsatData Pro (IDP) is a satellite device providing two-way messaging and tracking for remote assets over the Inmarsat network. Integrated with GSatTrack, it delivers global coverage for applications such as logistics, transportation, and resource management.
Using IDP
IDP Overview
Requires having an active IDP account
Optionally provision IDP account for Automated Provisioning Interface (VAPP)
Setup new Gateway on the portal (under Settings>Gateway) using IDP gateway credentials
Add terminals to the portal and activate them on the IDP gateway
IDP Signup Process
Contact an IDP Airtime Provider
Sign contract
Credentials will be submitted to SkyWave via Electronic Form to create a new SPID (Solution Provider ID)
Once SPID is active, a Gateway ID request is generated via Electronic Form to SkyWave to link up airtime packages
To enable device activation or deactivation through the portal, please submit a request to SkyWave using the Electronic Form. This request will facilitate the activation of the Automated Provisioning Interface (VAPP) and the Active/Deactivate/Move/Transfer Mobile rights for the new contact at vapp@gsattrack.com.
The relevant Access ID and Password for the created Gateway will be supplied that will then need to be entered on the portal (under Settings>Gateway)
Each tracking report consumes 25 bytes of data which is very little over this satellite system. Tracking will not impact your airtime costs in any significant way.
Activating/Deactivating a Terminal
Option 1 - Manual
- If the automated provisioning interface is not set up, then the IDP service provider will need to activate/deactivate the terminal manually using the support.skywave.com site.
Option 2 - Portal Assist
- Use the Activate/Deactivate Asset buttons under the asset’s Edit Config screen.
