Hughes 9450
Hughes 9450/9410 BGAN Terminal - GSatTrack Configuration
Device Summary
The Hughes 9450 and 9410 are BGAN satellite terminals with integrated Location Services capability. These terminals use GPS to report position data via UDP packets to tracking servers. The Location Services feature, available in the latest firmware releases, supports both static interval and movement-based reporting, making them suitable for asset tracking through platforms like GSatTrack.
GSatTrack Setup Configuration
Step 1: Access Terminal Settings
- Connect to the terminal's web interface
- Navigate to Settings → Location Services
Step 2: Configure GSatTrack Server
Enter the following parameters:
- Address:protocolparser.com
- IP port:4827.
Step 3: Set Reporting Parameters
- Report location at terminal power up: Enable
- Static Interval: Set desired hours:minutes (e.g., 2:00 for every 2 hours)
- Moving Interval: Set hours:minutes for movement reports (must be less than Static Interval)
- Moving Threshold: Enter distance in meters to trigger movement report
Step 4: Network Mode Configuration
For NAPT Mode:
- No additional configuration needed
- Uses shared context automatically
For NAT/Relay Mode:
- Configure dedicated context if required:
- Access Point Name: Leave blank for default or enter custom APN
- APN Username: Enter if required by provider
- APN Password: Enter if required by provider
- Note: SIM must support multiple PDP contexts
Step 5: Enable and Verify
- Enable Location Services
- Save configuration
- Check Status section - Error Code should show "None"
- Verify "Last Static Update" and "Last Moving Update" timestamps appear
Important Notes
- Location Services is OFF by default
- Uses UDP protocol for data transmission
- Ensure SIM provisioning supports multiple contexts for NAT/Relay modes
