MCG-101 v2 Samba Functionality

Samba

Samba is a service that allows interoperability between Unix, GNU/Linux and Mac with Windows networking. The default configuration of Samba on the MCG-101 uses the guest account and shares the SBD inbox and outbox directories via Windows networking.

Disabling SAMBA

Samba can be disabled in the MCG-101 user interface by:

  1. Open the MCG-101 User Interface

  2. Select the ‘System’ dropdown menu and click on ‘Startup’

  3. Click the ‘Enabled’ button to disable Samba

Connecting to the MCG-101 from Windows

  1. Open File Explorer (“Windows Explorer” in older versions of Windows)
  2. In File Explorer click on the Quick Access Bar and type in two backslashes followed by the IP address of your MCG-101: ex \192.168.4.1
