Device Setup

There are two primary methods for device setup:

• Device Setup via QR Scanner
• Device Setup via Connecting to a Device

Device Setup via QR Scanner

To set up your device using the QR scanner, follow these steps:

1. Manage Devices Tile: From the Home Screen, tap on the "Manage Devices" tile.
   

   

2. Access Device Setup: Select the tile labeled "Device Setup".
   

   

3. Set Reporting Rate: Choose the reporting rate that corresponds to the plan purchased for your device, then tap "Continue".
   

   

4. Select Transmit Mode: Select your desired transmit mode. "Standard" is the default setting. Tap "Continue".
   

   

5. QR Scanner Activation: The QR scanner will appear. At the top, you will see text similar to:
   "Scan Device QR Code to Set Device: Reporting Rate: [Your selected reporting rate] Activation Mode: [Your selected activation Mode]".

6. Scan QR Code: To configure the device, scan the QR code located on the back of the device.

1. Device Connection & Activation: The app will begin the setup process, first showing a screen indicating "Connecting to a device".
   

   

   Then a loading screen will appear, indicating that commands are being sent to the device and that device activation is in progress.
   

   

2. Configuration Success: Upon successful completion of command transmission, a "Success Screen" will appear, confirming that the configuration was successful.
   

   
   
   Tap "Continue" to return to the QR scanner, allowing you to scan and configure more devices with the saved configuration.

Device Setup via Connecting to a Device

To set up your device by connecting directly to it, follow these steps:

1. Home Screen Selection: From the Home Screen, tap on "Connect to device". The app will then display a list of all available devices within range.

   

2. Device Selection: Choose the correct device from the presented list.

   

3. Automatic Connection: The app will automatically establish a connection with the selected device.

Once the GSatSolar Configuration Tool has successfully connected to the device, proceed with the following configuration steps:

1. Access Device Setup: Select the tile labeled "Device Setup".
   

   

2. Set Reporting Rate: Choose the reporting rate that corresponds to the plan purchased for your device, then tap "Continue".
   

   

3. Select Transmit Mode: Select your desired transmit mode. "Standard" is the default setting. Tap "Continue".
   

   

4. Device Activation: The application will display a loading screen, indicating that commands are being sent to the device and that device activation is in progress.
   

   

5. Configuration Success: Upon successful completion of command transmission, a "Success Screen" will appear.
   

   
   
   Tap "Continue" to return to the Home Screen.
